DIRECTIONS AND CHECK IN/OUT
1. Head west on Interstate 70. If you came in at DIA airport, you will take Pena Boulevard to exit the airport - this
joins into I-70 after about 10 miles. Get into the center lane to avoid being in the exit only lane to I-270 - you want to remain
on I-70.
2. Pass thru the heart of Denver - I -70 is elevated thru much of this area and it can be congested during morning or
afternoon rush hour. Need a place to stop for a bite to eat, pass over I-25 headed west and take the Federal Blvd exit - there
is a Village Inn just to your right.
3. Once you pass thru Denver and Lakewood (West Denver), the highway will begin to climb
up into the foothills. You will pass through Red Rocks where the famous amphitheater is but you can't see it from I-70.
4. If you need to hit a Super Walmart on the way up the mountains, take the EVERGREEN exit west of Denver. This is a two
lane exit to your right and it is very easy to get back on I-70 headed west. You can see the Super WalMart on your left once
you get on the exit.
5. Next, look for Exit 232. This is the exit to US Route 40 and the town of Empire and Winter Park.
You will pass through the town of Empire - Watch for Barney the policeman - he wants you to go 35 MPH and not 1 MPH over that.
The fine is now $175 if you get to meet Barney
6. You are now climbing up into the mountains (not the foothills) and you will
climb to 11,300 feet where you will pass over Berthoud Pass. If it is daylight, stop to enjoy the view at the top.

Go down into the beautiful Fraser River Valley - go thru two traffic lights (both at the ski area) and watch for the large Lodge on
your right about 1 mile past the last light. Park in front of the lodge and go to the desk to get your keys. If you arrive
after 10pm, your keys are in the box at the front door. Go across the road and climb up to the condos taking the left fork in
the road. As you enter the complex, you will pass the pool building on your left. After taking the fork and reaching the
top of the hill, building 16 is the 2nd building on your left.

Check in is at 4pm or later. The office is open until 10pm (except in off season).
Check out is at 10am or earlier. The office opens at 8am. Remember: Check in at Beaver Village Lodge - not at the
condo rental desk.
