DIRECTIONS:
Refer to the map below and know that getting here is half the fun!!! From the Denver Area, take interstate 70 west. You will pass through or near several mountain towns such as Evergreen, Golden and Idaho Springs. From I-70, take exit 232 on to US Route 40.
Almost immediately, you will pass through the town of Empire. The 35 MPH speed limit is strictly observed - you
are well advised to observe the speed limit unless you want to meet the local Sheriff. Remain on US Route
40. You will climb to over 11,000 feet elevation and pass over the Continental Divide at Berthoud (pronounced Ber-Thud) Pass at 11,300 feet. The view up here is spectacular so take a moment to pull off the
road and enjoy the view. US Route 40 will take you down into the Fraser Valley where Winter Park and the Condominiums are located. When you see your first traffic light with a large hotel to your left,
go 2.8 miles to the condo entrance on your left. Look for the Beaver Village Condominium sign (see below) that marks the entrance to the complex. If you pass the median divider that marks the entrance to
Downtown Winter Park, you have gone too far - go back and make your first right into the condo entrance. |
